How marketplace commission, returns, shipping and e-documents are recorded.
This topic is the record of sales from a marketplace or from your own site. The formation papers are not here. The balance in the seller panel is not profit either. Inside one month the order, the shipment, the return, the commission and the amount that reaches the bank are different numbers. Calling the month a profit before those sit side by side is early.
There are three guides. One is the form and the legal name before you sell. One is the monthly record. One is who must use e-documents. The last does not say every online seller must issue e-invoices on day one. Thresholds and sectors change. The guide separates the obliged from the voluntary.
Three dates sit side by side in the books. The day the order left, the day the invoice was issued, and the day the money reached the bank. Those three are not always the same day. A return does not delete the sale. Commission is an expense when the invoice is issued to you. An invoice issued to someone else is not your expense.
The guides in this topic
- How to form a company for e-commerce. A marketplace does not create a new company type. The legal name, the account and the activity close before you sell.
- How e-commerce accounting is kept. Commission, returns, shipping, the withholding statement and five checks when you close the month.
- e-Ledger and e-invoice. Who is obliged. It does not replace the e-commerce guide. It explains the document channel.
If the company does not exist yet, opening it is company formation. The record after sales begin is accounting. The choice of legal form is not here either. Sole proprietorship or limited company holds that decision.

Do I need a company to sell on a marketplace?
Regular, continuing sales are a commercial activity. An occasional personal sale and a parcel that leaves every day are not the same thing. The form depends on turnover and whether you will have partners. The detail is in the questions of the e-commerce guide.
Does the panel balance count as profit?
No. Gross sales, returns, commission and the amount paid into the bank are four different numbers. The balance does not stand in for them.
Is my own site recorded like a marketplace?
The way you get paid can differ. In both cases the invoice, the return and the bank movement are matched with the same discipline. An order that arrives from social media does not remove the duty to issue a document.
